The Mojave in November

I had been feeling not so into winter, so I decided to take off and find some sun and warmth.  I ended up in the Mojave National Preserve for a week and although it was generally warmish and mostly sunny, there was some snow and the wind was in full effect.

There are miles of dirt roads to ride and in general, not much out there as far as conveniences.  The less travelled roads are often sandy or contain sections of loose decomposed granite.

I stayed at the Hole in the Wall CG for a couple nights before finding a campsite a little more off the beaten path under the Granite Mountains.

This area is definitely barren and desolate and I can't imagine what it is like in the heat of summer.  I found a good time to go, but next time I think I will try for earlier fall or springtime to optimize the perfect warmth potential.
